First week of a new year

We were all pleased to see each other this week and excited to talk all about what Father Christmas brought and what we have been up to over the holidays. It was a cold week in Stalmine and we made the most of being out in the cold but sunny weather. One day we found lots of ice and we spent time exploring it and breaking it up. We were fascinated by the patterns inside the ice and we even found some that we thought looked like dinosaur teeth! We set up our own experiment to see what would happen if we left tubs of water outside overnight it all froze and we had fun melting it. We learnt how to use a thermometer to measure the temperature too.

We have played inside too and have enjoyed exploring different textures of wet and dry sand and in maths we have been learning about teen numbers.
