History workshops across school (May 2024)

Julie Ryott from LCC heritage & outreach team put super workshops for our children in C2 and C4. The focus was the Mayan civilisation for C4 and the Great Fire of London for a younger pupils in C2 The children took a lot from their sessions as they heard stories, gathered information and took part in drama activities. We even had a re-enactment of the 'Great Fire outside' (small model!!!) Thankyou Julie !

Author visit - March 2024 'Dan Worsley'

It was great to have local children's author Dan Worsley in school during Spring Term 1. Dan worked as a Primary school teacher on the Fylde before becoming a professional writer. He worked with the children across school with his reading and writing workshops. The pupils loved his stories and he gave some fabulous tips on writing good stories (even giving away some of his top tips that have helped him to become such a successful author!) Thankyou Dan

The Blackpool Tower Dance Competition KS2 pupils

Our junior children performed brilliantly at the Tower Ballroom in front of a sell out crowd - their dance routine depicted the hopes and dreams of the workers in a 'Victorian age' where times were hard and work was physical and tough. They received wonderful feedback on the their dance routine from the judges. It was an amazing achievement to learn such a complex routine in only a few weeks and to perform in front of over 1000 people. Well done Stalmine!
