Ofsted January 2023

Stalmine Primary School continues to be a 'Good' School

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have now received a final copy of our Ofsted report following the inspection that took place on 25th January 2023. We are delighted to share with parents and carers that Ofsted have recognised that Stalmine Primary School continues to be a Good school.

The inspection team were impressed by what they saw, noting that our school is ‘the heart of the community’ and that ‘pupils view the staff as kind and helpful.’ The Ofsted report recognised that children at Stalmine Primary School are ‘happy’, ‘try their best’, ‘play well-together’ and are able to talk about their learning with ‘confidence and in detail’. The report describes relationships between pupils and staff as ‘kind and helpful’. They also recognised our curriculum ambition and the ‘high expectations’ that leaders have of pupils across school. They commented that ‘pupils work hard and that they are ‘well prepared for their next steps’.

We are very proud that Ofsted has recognised the strong inclusivity of the school where SEND pupils ‘take a full and active part in what the school has to offer’ and the staff are ‘skilled in supporting children’s emotional and social needs’.

The full report is available below. As a school, we always look to move forward and build on our strengths. We will endeavour to improve in those areas identified in the report and from our own evaluation. We are excited to continue on our journey as a school to further improve the education and experiences we bring to our children, and the role we play in our wider community.
